Dear Reader,
I don't even know where to start...
I know it's been awhile since I last wrote you, so please forgive me.
Let's just say that my life has been turned upside down, pulled and
pushed, and steamrolled all at the same time.
No, it's nothing bad, just stuff that will help you, that's all. I'm
sure you don't want to be bored with the fine details but I'll give you
a little insight on what I've been up to since my last letter and how it
will help you.
I don't know exactly where to start, so I'll just start where I think I
should.

I just wanted to let you know that Lee and Jim Pemberton of Pemberton's
Cleaning and Restoration Supply have given me the honor to teach our newly

And Second...

What a great time at Connections a few weeks ago and if you missed it we
sure missed you! We put on a mini seminar called "BRC's Success Together"
and discussed some excellent topics such as: marketing and sales,
prospecting, time management, leveraging, employee issues, creating more
profit, and too many other topics to list.
Each person in attendance received a copy of Michael Gerber's E-Myth, on us
as our way of thanking you for attending.
We definitely plan on making Success Together at least a yearly sidebar to
Connections. We talked with several of the attendees who were extremely
pleased with the session and format. (although the background music was a
bit loud) As always, we are never pushy salespeople like (ahem) some of the
other "gurus" who roamed the Convention Halls.
Who knows? Maybe Success Together will turn into a more frequent event?
Based on feedback so far, it may very well turn into a frequent strategic
session.

I'm Not Sure Where to Start....

...so I'll just jump right in. I have joined forces with a national magazine
called "Millionaire Blueprints".
I can see you scratching your head now. "Scott, how does that help me?" Dear
reader, you're about to find out, but first let me tell you a bit about the
magazine and why you should pay attention.
Millionaire Blueprints is a very unique success magazine endorsed by the
King of Print Marketing himself - Dan Kennedy.
Dan Kennedy doesn't have a thing to do with the company or magazine itself;
however, he did recently endorse it as his new favorite success magazine.
Here's what he says about Millionaire Blueprints in his "No BS Marketing
Letter":
THE NEW, BEST MAGAZINE FOR ENTREPRENEURS
"Regrettably, the Success Magazine that I grew up with, that was the
place for entrepreneurs when W. Clement Stone was publishing it, passed into
incompetent hands and eventually disappeared altogether. Its name was
bought, ironically, out of bankruptcy, and it is currently published as a
give- away at seminars. Entrepreneur magazine has steadily changed for the
worse, leaving real entrepreneurs behind, trying to “image up” and be a
clone of Inc. I frankly find most of it unreadable and fear for its future.
A new magazine has appeared that is filling the void admirably and is
absolutely worth reading — no studying — every issue: “Millionaire
Blueprints”. You can find it on bookstore, grocery store and Wal-Mart
newsstands or get info and subscribe at www.millionaireblueprints.com. I’ve
watched it for a year or so before recommending it here and can now
wholeheartedly endorse it. That does NOT mean I agree with all its content
or endorse its advertisers. But this does have some of the “feel” of the old
Success and the old Entrepreneur that I miss: it does a solid job with
in-depth how-to articles; and it deserves support and marketplace success.
I’m rooting for it."
I strongly encourage you to get a copy of the magazine ASAP. This is a nuts
'n bolts type of magazine about how wealthy people got that way. The content
is not theory-based at all. Every article is about how each person featured
"made it" in life. Many are rags-to-riches stories and many are average
guy-to-riches articles. After each article there is a full page (sometimes
2) of specific references the reader can turn to for more research and
information.
MB is a national print magazine. It's only 2 years old, but it's already won
awards for being one of the most successful new magazine releases in the
past 30 years. Its growth rate is stunning. In Feb '05, it was carried in a
test of 5 cities. Early in '06 it was carried in 95% (and growing) of all
bookstores and box stores like Walmart and Target. In 2007 the magazine is
doing what only one other magazine has done before.
In 2007, Millionaire Blueprints is hitting major markets at the local level.
Only one magazine has tried this before - a "little" magazine called TV
Guide.
So what's my involvement and how does it help you?
My involvement in MB is that my wife, Sunny, and I have purchased 30% shares
in the Detroit and Chicago city markets. Sunny and I are devoting a lot of
time and effort into making this investment succeed. So what's in it for
you?
I'm a student - and will always be a student of - success. I hope you are
too because once you think you "know it all", chances are great that you'll
rule out some of the best, new marketing techniques available. What my
involvement brings to you is the chance to see unique ways in which a big
company (think Yellow Trucks, but more innovative and in a different
industry) successfully bring their message to the local level. That's
exactly what MB is doing, and that's exactly what Sunny and I are
accomplishing.
In future issues I'll share with you some excellent marketing strategies
that we're using that you can use in your own business. Sunny and I are
charter members of the concept. We were the first to jump at the
opportunity. Since we jumped in, a mere 2 months ago, there are now over 30
additional city owners - and growing.
At this point I can't divulge our marketing plan because it's on the verge
of launch and the magazine industry is exactly like every other industry -
guarded in what works and what doesn't. As it unfolds I'll be sure to
document many exciting and unique strategies we're using to fill the pages.
As for my cleaning/restoration business, we're still booming - and expect to
keep on growing. We're enabling several new marketing campaigns based on new
strategies that we've picked up with our new affiliation with MB. Again, I
ask you to be patient and stay tuned.
